A solid wood table that comes apart into three pieces and goes back together without tools. Five planks make up the top, and two leg assemblies slot into each other at the base using a half lap joint to form a clean X. Slot the top in, and the whole thing locks together into a sturdy table. Pack it down, it fits flat under a bed or in a car boot. It works on a balcony, in the garden, or at a campsite, and it looks good enough to use indoors too.
The Design
- Five Plank Tabletop – Five solid wood planks laid flat and connected, slotting into the leg assemblies to lock everything in place.
- X Base Leg Assembly – Two leg pieces each with a connecting rail. The rails slot into each other using a half lap joint to form an X when viewed from above. No hardware, no tools, just wood on wood.
- Slot Together Construction – All three pieces slot into each other. Strong when assembled, flat when packed down.
- Flat Pack in Three Pieces – Breaks down into the tabletop and two leg assemblies. Easy to store, easy to carry, easy to set up anywhere.
- Your Finish Choice – Sealed with a clear varnish. Stained or natural, your call.

- Option 1: The Finished Piece (We’ll Build It For You) – Built and finished in our Nairobi workshop. Choose your finish and we’ll deliver it to your door.
- Option 2: The Workshop Experience -A full-day Saturday session from 10am to 4pm at SF Duka. You’ll cut, shape, join, sand, and finish your stool from scratch. Lunch and Snack are provided
