Description
SF Duka Yarn On Canvas – Draw It. Glue It. Layer It.
This one is slower and more meditative than most of our crafts. You start by sketching your design directly onto the canvas – anything from a simple landscape to bold lettering to an abstract shape. Then you brush wood glue onto one section at a time and press yarn into it, colour by colour, layer by layer, until the sketch underneath is completely covered and what’s left is a textured, tactile piece of wall art.
The result looks like something you’d find in a concept store. The process is something you’d want to do again on a quiet Saturday.
The Craft
- Start With a Sketch – Draw your design directly onto the canvas before you start. Our team will help you plan something achievable within your session time.
- Glue and Layer – Brush wood glue onto your canvas section by section and press yarn in to cover it. Build up colours and textures as you go.
- Pick Your Yarn – Choose from our available yarn colours to build a palette that works for your design.
- Canvas on a Frame – Your finished piece comes ready to hang or display as is.
The Workshop Experience
A Saturday session at SF Duka. We set up your canvas and easel, walk you through the technique, and let you work at your own pace from there. Pick your preferred session – morning (10am – 1pm) or afternoon (2pm – 5pm) – right here on this page.
