You’re at the WRC Rally, sundowners are calling, and you need a surface that didn’t require a pickup truck to get there. That’s the Suitcase Picnic Table. It’s a full-sized picnic table that folds down into a wooden briefcase you can carry in one hand. Built in our Nairobi workshop, it’s the kind of thing that makes people ask “wait, where did that come from?”
The Design
The whole thing is built around one idea: it should disappear when you’re done with it.
- The Briefcase Fold – The table collapses in seconds into a compact, self-contained case. No loose parts, no assembly instructions.
- Integrated Carry Handles – Hand-carved handle slots built directly into the frame. Carry it like a bag.
- Low-Profile Build – Designed for ground-level lounging. Pairs well with floor cushions or the SF Duka Foldable Picnic Chair.
- Smooth Slatted Top – Plenty of space for drinks, a cheese board, or a full spread.

- Option 1: The Finished Piece (We’ll Build It For You) – We build, sand, and finish your table in our Nairobi workshop. Every joint checked, every edge smooth. It shows up at your door ready to go.
- Option 2: The Workshop Experience (You build it yourself at SF Duka on a Saturday) – We give you the materials, the tools, and the guidance. The folding mechanism is a satisfying build – and when you’re done, you carry it out in one hand.
